The star in the Show Jumping Sky with a unique pedigree.
Outstanding in scope with an ideal technique, descending from a pedigree of absolute worldwide recognition – that´s how to describe Balou Star in just a few words. His two grandsires Baloubet du Rouet and Quick Star are the top sires of this time. Both are sons of their common sire Galoubet A, and he even descends from one of the sires of the Century, ALME Z !
By reason of his movements and his extraordinary jumping ability, Balou Star was licensed in Alsfeld in March 2008, receiving the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping. Thereafter, and in a field of 42 international top horses, he twice achieved the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping manner and ability at the 30-days-test in Schlieckau.
In the season 2013 Balou Star was ridden by Hans-Dieter Dreher at International Youngster tours, including the International Youngster Cup at the occasion of the 2013 Global Champions Tour in Wiesbaden. There in the final, he achieved the respectable 8th place as the second best German horse.
Because of his outstanding sporting achievements Balou Star received the full recognition as a stallion by the Oldenburg International Breeding Association (OS) and, thereafter, by Hanover.
After Balou Star in 2014, with Jorvik Star, presented his first BEF Futurity show jumping champion foal in England, he changed to the British Isles. There, being ridden by FEI-YR rider Millie Allen, member of the “British World Class Development Programme Team” led by BEF Performance Manager Di Lampard. Recently, Millie and Balou Star achieved numerous wins and high international acclaim in the 1.45m to 1.55m class, such as:
> Double Bronze European Champion (Team and Individual) at the 2015 FEI YR European Championship of Wiener Neustadt
> CSI2 Grand Prix 2016, NL-Kronenberg
> The 2016 Royal Highland SCT / 1.55m/ Intern.
Stairways Champion / Leading Rider Award
> CSIU25-A / 2016 Paris, Grand Palais / Les Talents Hermes /Nations Team Champion
> CSI2 U25 Grand Prix Liverpool 2016/17
> 2015 /16 London Olympia / British U23
Championship Grand Prix / World Class
> CSI2 / 2015 London Global Champions Tour
Sire: Balou du Rouet was highly placed Federal Championships finalist. He is now successful in international show jumping and was able to present numerous approved sons. His father Baloubet du Rouet by Alme Z won under Rodrigo Pessoa countless competitions on the greatest championship courses in the world. The world class sire Almé Z by Ibrahim has virtually affected all European warm blood breeds prevail. On all international competitions and Olympic medals ranks descendants of Almé Z can be found. The dam line goes back to the 3rd generation on Domino, which represents the successful Hanoverian Schockemoehle-jumping blood.
Dam: Quenada derives from the legendary Quick Star. This designated Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum as the most important horse of her career, as he helped her to international fame.
The special feature in the pedigree of this exceptional stallion Balou Star is thus firmly anchoring Alme Z – Success genes both on the father, as well as on the mother’s side.
In his first breeding years Balou Star already produced many highly awarded and price winning premium foals, such as “Jorvik Star” and “Kingston Star” and two licensed sons, “Butterfly Flip”, licensed in Pferdestammbuch Weser-Ems, and “Ruxton Hullabalou” A.E.S. licensed. All previously-born foals show leggy with elegant chic, great movement potential, very good jumping technique and best interior. In the same way as their father they literally “seek” for the fences.
In January 2016 Balou Star was awarded the “Best Competition Stallion Show Jumping 2015″ and “Best Newcomer Jumping Stallion 2015″ in the UK by the “Competition Stallion Directory”, after he had sired the highest ranking BEF Futurity show jumping foal in 2014 and in 2015! In Switzerland, he presented 2014 the 8th best foal.
In 2016 Millie Allen under Balou Star was awarded LEADING RIDER at the Royal Highland Show, Edinburg, SCT, winning the 1.55m Intern. Stairways.
Approved and recognized for Oldenburg International (OS), Hannover, Zweibrücken, Cheval Suisse, England/A.E.S., all Southern German associations, Pony Breeders Association Hesse and Weser-Ems.
