Baggio Blue

Biography

A powerhouse with lots of dynamics in the canter, always uphill, and of international quality at the jump: manner, technique and ability convince even the most discerning rider. The pedigree has it all: the exceptionally wealthy sire Baggio is presented in international show jumping by Tobias Meyer. He impressed with his first crops and has since produced 15 licensed sons, including several premium and champion stallions. The dam's sire Chacco Blue was the No. 1 jumper sire in the WBFSH stallion rankings for many years. Chacco Blue jumped to an impressive third place in the Grand Prix of Aachen under Andreas Kreuzer and is the sire of European Champion Explosion W/Ben Maher (GBR), Chalou/Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), Calisto Blue/Daniel Deußer and VDL Groep Miss Untouchable/Leopold van Asten (NED), amongst others. The third generation of Lafontaine was himself successful in show jumping with Hauke Luther up to and including advanced (including internationally in Hamburg Derby classes) and his offspring also proved themselves in conspicuous numbers on advanced (S) level courses. The great-granddam Al-Kahira was herself a multiple winner in advanced (S) level show jumping competitions under Baggio Blues Zücher Heinz Dieter Blumhoff. She descends from the proven Warendorf state stud stallion Argwohn I, who sired such good horses as Argot/Stefan Lauber Atlanta 124/Elmar Gundel, Argwohn I and Aramis 81/Franke Sloothaak. The Radetzky son Rasputin, who is valued as a performance sire, rounds off the pedigree excellently. Baggio Blue descends from the Westphalian line 159/Suschen (by Sportwart-Hecht), which has been maintained by the Blumhoff family for generations and also produced the licensed stallion Come and Fight (by Chico's Boy).
