Biography

Holstein jumper stallion par excellence, particularly athletic and of high nobility with an impressive hereditary power. Canoso knew how to use the few breeding opportunities he was given as a young stallion to emphatically recommend himself as a top-class sire. He already has 14 successful offspring at advanced (S) level, including Christiano (Amy Millar), who won 5* competitions for Canada, and Canwero (Aleksander Lewandowski), who placed over 1.60 m in World Cup show jumping competitions. Canoso's children are recommended as ideal partners for every requirement thanks to their jumping ability, willingness to perform and positive rideability values - whether for top international or advanced amateur riders. To date, ten Canoso sons have been licensed in Germany, including the premium stallion Cantinoso and Coal Quidam, who has won a series of show jumping tests with top scores. Two of them were recently licensed in 2021. Canoso's sire Catoki won World Cup competitions under Philipp Weishaupt and is an established name in European show jumping horse breeding. His daughter Catch Me If You Can was a successful member of the German show jumping team under Laura Klaphake. Canoso's dam is by way of the iron-hard thoroughbred Sir Shostakovich xx and the sire legend Caletto II of the finest bloodline from the renowned Holstein line 18a2, from which, for example, the derby winner Calle Cool, the hereditarily strong Classiker and Canoso's internationally successful full brother Catoki's Son originate. Canoso already received excellent reviews at the 2007 licensing in Neumünster and was singled out by breeding director Dr. Thomas Nissen as the best jumper of the entire licensing event (score: 10.0). Canoso started his career under the saddle as the jumper winner of his 30-day test in Prussendorf and was able to place in international two-star S jumping competitions until his retirement, first under Tanja Sprehe and most recently with Tobias Meyer in the saddle. The granddam Zaletta is a state premium mare and a daughter of the Holstein licensing winner Caletto II, whose best daughter Classic Touch became Olympic champion with Ludger Beerbaum in 1992. He left behind a few stallion sons in just four years of breeding. These include Caretino, Corleone, Cascadeur, Calvin, Cadillac, Cellebrio, Calgary, Chamonix and Calwahn. The great-granddam Felica produced the sires Leonardo I and II (by Lord); the top sire Chambertin also belongs to the direct family. In addition, the 18 a 2 line can look back on over 100 licensed stallions, including C-Trenton Z, Cheetano, Calvadur, Classiker and Marmor, the Holsteiner licensing winner 2012, Quvee Prestige, as well as countless international show jumpers, such as Arturo jun. /Christian Ahlmann, Calle Cool/Carsten-Otto Nagel, Claire 44/Markus Renzel, Cristallo 5/Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst, Mercator 4/Tjark Nagel and Min Jung 2/Peter Hoff.
