Biography

Desperado N.O.P is an elite KWPN Keur stallion born in 2008, sired by the legendary Vivaldi out of a Havidoff x Ferro dam. Bred by the Andeweg family in Randwijk and co-owned by A. Valk and the Andeweg family, Desperado demonstrated exceptional talent from the start, scoring an impressive 89.5 points at his performance test. His competitive career is nothing short of remarkable. After winning the 2012 PAVO-Cup and three consecutive Stallion Competition titles (2013-2015), Desperado progressed to Grand Prix level with rider Emmelie Scholtens. Together, they achieved international success including team silver at the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, bronze at the 2020 Dutch National Championships, and a spectacular victory at the 2021 CHIO Aachen CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle with 83.110%. In March 2021, they were named FEI Horse of the Month and ranked as the top Dutch combination on the FEI World Rankings. As a breeding stallion, Desperado passes on his exceptional qualities—presence, size, length, three correct gaits, and a cooperative temperament. His offspring have achieved remarkable success, including a 2016 performance test champion son, the approved stallion James Bond, and Niana V.O.D, who became the 2021 National Champion Mare. In 2024, Desperado received the prestigious KWPN Keur predicate in recognition of his outstanding achievements both in sport and breeding.
