Biography
Overview Erdinger is a real powerhouse stallion: convincing with a lot of motor and strong mechanics in the trot, consistently uphill in the canter, and relaxed yet energetic in the walk. He combines modern rideability with expressive movement and a proven performance record. Performance & Testing Erdinger stood out in his 14-day test in Neustadt/Dosse (2017), finishing as the clear winner in the dressage index with top marks. He achieved the highest trot score of the entire test (9.5) and an overall index of 8.87. In sport, Erdinger made an immediate impact in 2019 with Sabine Rueben. His record includes first international victories with top scores and a win in a Bundeschampionat qualifier. He is currently being prepared for Grand Prix level. Progeny Erdinger’s foal crops have repeatedly exceeded expectations, producing large-framed foals with outstanding movement and elasticity—widely recognised as the “Erdinger brand.” To date, four high-quality sons have been licensed, including a premium stallion. His son Elvis in Black earned a top prize at his licensing. Pedigree (Sire Line) Erdinger is by Escolar, a stallion who strongly influenced his type and movement quality. Escolar was twice Bundeschampion of Stallions (2012 and 2013) with Hermann Burger. Under Hubertus Schmidt, Escolar won a Grand Prix as a nine-year-old and was nominated for the German championship squad. Escolar offspring are widely recognised for their dressage talent and success at state and national level Dam Line & Holsteiner Blood Erdinger’s dam has produced the licensed Puerto Rico (by Peking), alongside successful dressage and show jumping horses up to advanced (S) level. This includes Davy Jones (by Don Laurie I), internationally successful up to Grand Prix under Victoria Suppert. The dam’s sire Contender is one of Germany’s most proven sires, with offspring earnings exceeding 10 million euros across disciplines. Many successful dressage horses also carry Contender blood. The great-grandsire Coriander represents Holsteiner versatility, combining Grand Prix sport success with lasting influence as a sire. Holsteiner line 2067 has produced 53 licensed stallions, including Calwahn, Canturano I and II, Carthano, Con Caletto (USA), Con Spirito (SUI), Corvalon, Gondoso (internationally successful with Hugo Simon/AUT), Landstreicher (internationally successful with Toni Hassmann), Lord Logger, his full brothers Lordon I and II, Masetto, Rando, Solid Silver (USA), Sympathico and Umulus-SW (NED), as well as the internationally successful show jumpers Cattani (by Corrado I) with Geir Gulliksen (NOR), Lausbub (by Landmeister) with Franke Sloothaak, Leonidas 40 (by Lincoln) with Lars Nieberg, Leonardo (by Landmeister) with Franke Sloothaak, Lordon 3 (by Lord) with Luciana Diniz (BRA) and Top Secret (by Tin Rocco) with Karina Johannpeter (BRA).
