Hilkens Gold Card has the necessary attributes of a top producer – proven pedigree, superb conformation, excellent brain and true beauty. His movement and jump certainly do not disappoint – he is elegant yet elevated, possessing both poise and power. Hilkens Gold Card’s very impressive pedigree contains many of the legendary producers of international competition ponies. He is closely related to numerous very successful ridden ponies. His maternal half-brother Hilkens Denali, previously a Weser-Ems licensed stallion, 2019 Australian Advanced Dressage Pony Champion, is now competing GP. Hilkens Gold Card is an excellent choice for breeders wishing to produce ponies with international potential. Equally he’s a superb choice for horse mares, in order to refine & breed quality smaller competition horses. Hilkens Gold Card’s foals to date have all truly delighted & impressed, with their wonderful frames, athleticism, temperament & colour.
Notable Progeny
In 2015, Delaroche Black Gold, was awarded a much coveted SPSS GOLD Premium, this exceptional colt really impressed the judges receiving comments such as ‘correct, well moving foal with uphill tendency & freedom in the paces’. Black Gold was subsequently sold as a potential FEI dressage pony & stallion prospect – dreams that he is well on the way to realising, as in 2018 Black Gold licensed as a 3yo, was crowned BEF Futurity Champion Sports Pony & has since commenced his ridden career. Hilkens Gold Card’s progeny presented for foal/youngstock evaluation so far have all been very well received, including 7 Futurity/SPSS Gold Premiums, one Elite Foal Tour Finalist in 2019 and in 2021 his colt foal Golden Storm was awarded a British Breeding Futurity ELITE and SPSS Reserve Supreme Youngstock Champion. Delaroche Royal Gold, his first daughter presented for mare grading, achieved Head Studbook status and was SPSS Reserve Supreme Champion Mare in 2021. She was also awarded an SPSS Gold Premium and was SPSS 2021 Top 3 year old.
