Biography

The black Jayson (s.Johnson) is a top-talented dressage horse with a superb temperament. Jayson is a great promise for the future. Not entirely unsurprising if you know that his sire, the preferent Johnson, successfully competed at International Grand Prix-level with Hans Peter Minderhoud and that the combination was a fixed asset on the Dutch Team. At the EC in Aachen in 2015, they won team gold and an individual bronze medal in the Grand Prix Special. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Johnson achieved an individual 9th place. Jayson’s grandsire, the preferent top-producer Negro, is also famous for passing on his superb temperament and ring mentality to his offspring. Furthermore, Negro also proved himself in the “big” ring and is the sire of many International Grand Prix dressage horses, including the living legend Valegro. Valegro is the world record holder and winner of 2 individual Olympic gold medals, amongst other titles. If we look at Jayson’s dam-line, via the prestatie sport granddam Jamora (s. Wisconsin), we find the well-known keur preferent prestatie mare Tamora (s.Amor) who, via the keur preferente prestatie mare Olien (s.Pericles xx), leads us to the absolute top mare Karin (s.Apollo). Karin enjoys National fame as bloodline foundation mare. Jayson was winner of the 2017/2018 NRPS performance test. Following the short-term performance test in Autumn 2018, Jayson was admitted to the KWPN studbook with a fantastic score. Jayson is an honest, reliable, rider-focused stallion who shows a great work ethic and has an excellent temperament. The stallion is easy to work with. The walk is clear-cut, has good scope and makes good use of the body. In trot, Jayson moves with good leg action. The trot has good scope, good self-carriage and a hind leg that comes under well. The canter is very powerful, uphill, balanced and has good scope. Jayson moves with good elasticity, good self-carriage and good balance. As a dressage horse, Jayson is talented to very talented and gives his rider a good feeling. He is an honest, reliable stallion, easy-going and quiet in the stable. Jayson can contribute size, rideability and temperament to dressage horse breeding, as well as power and self-carriage to way of going.
