Biography

Koning Albert is an eye-catching black rabicano stallion who is outstandingly calm, gentle & talented and showing great natural ability. He scored 9’s at his Approval grading for movement and Jumping with high overall marks. He has 43.16% blood giving good percentages for those looking to breed stamina and speed. He is LIFE APPROVED with both the Anglo European Studbook and Breeders Elite Studbook, showing his continuing quality and talent. He is a very calm stallion and coupled with a relaxed, kind and affectionate temperament, he is well known for being the perfect gentleman amongst other horses. Koning Albert has produced some very correct foals already from a variety of mares, all of whom have inherited his disposition and his stunning features. Our own Zangersheide mare has produced 2 lovely strong colts by him, and one has already been graded High Silver Premium. Koning Albert is by the successful KWPN sire Freeman VDL, who as a 3-year-old was KWPN show Champion and continued with great success, producing many horses competing above 1m30 and several at 1m50 and 3* Eventing and above. Freeman is known for making very complete horses with beautiful toplines and excellent conformation. Koning Albert is the only Approved son standing at stud in the UK that is also registered with British Showjumping and British Dressage His sire Emmerton VDL Elite stallion was highly successful as a showjumper at 1m60, His grandsire on his dam’s side, Chin Chin won numerous Top Competitions and was placed at two Olympic Games and the finals of two World Cups. Corland, also on Alberts Dams side was placed in many Grands Prix. He was also 2nd in “The Sires of the World” in Lanaken and had numerous top results. The preferent stallion, Concorde was the sire with the most offspring at the World Breeding Championships for young horses and many have proved themselves at the very top at Grand Prix level (1.60 m.) and World Cup jumping. Concorde was the youngest stallion ever to be awarded preferent, due to his endless list of national and international children. Concorde was elected “Horse of the Year” in 2004 and is the highest ranked KWPN stallion in the top ten of the WBFSH. Both he and Ramiro Z on the dam side have produced hundreds of 4* Dressage horses, 3* Event horses and 1m60 Showjumpers between them. Koning Alberts dam, Zowie, a Keur EPTM graded mare who jumped at 1m20 is also from a line of Keur and Preferent graded jumping mares all with fabulous temperaments and ability. Koning Albert is a very elegant horse, with a beautiful head, kind eye and exceptional temperament. He has an excellent technique over his fences, is careful and light on his feet. He is proving very versatile, showing unphased attitude and great ability in cross country, show jumping and more recently dressage. He offers mare owners quality in type and has exceptional fertility from both frozen and chilled.
