Biography

Le Formidable (born 2016) is a striking black Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) dressage stallion by Bordeaux out of the elite mare Vienna (by Ferro). Standing approximately 1.71 m (17 hh) at the withers, he is bred by Saskia Poel and co-owned with Karel Gerrits, and carries approvals from KWPN, Hannoverian (HANN) and Oldenburg (OLD) studbooks. He is WFFS-free, making him a healthy and attractive breeding option. Le Formidable first captured widespread attention when he was crowned undisputed champion of the 2019 KWPN Stallion Licensing, where judges praised his model, presence and expressive movement. Since then he has been a top supplier of quality offspring at stallion inspections, with multiple sons advancing to performance testing and with his first foals regularly selling above average at auctions — proving that he passes on type, front and convincing gaits.
