Biography

A beautifully shaped KWPN dressage stallion with a pedigree in a class of its own, Toto Gold represents modern European dressage breeding at its best. He stands out for his elegance, correct conformation, and powerful, dynamic yet always tactful, swinging movement. His bloodlines combine an exceptional concentration of championship-winning stallions from recent decades. Toto Gold is by Glock’s Toto Jr, the first licensed son of the legendary Totilas, who became one of the most successful dressage horses in the world under Edward Gal and left a lasting impact on sport and breeding. Toto Jr’s Hanoverian dam is by Olympic champion Desperados FRH, and Toto Jr has proven himself both in performance testing and sport, including winning the Dutch dressage championship with Edward Gal in 2020. As a sire, he is regarded as one of the most sought-after stallions of his generation in Europe. On the dam line, Toto Gold is out of Idol, the full sister of the licensed stallion Jovian, double world champion of seven-year-old dressage horses. Idol is by Apache, reserve champion at the KWPN licensing and a competitor at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon under Emmelie Scholtens. Apache has produced multiple influential stallion sons and is also the sire line behind the the stallion Galaxy. Idol is also the half-sister of Friend (by Rousseau), successful at Intermédiaire I level. Further back, the granddam Zinith is the half-sister of Upshot, dam of the licensed stallion Astrix, winner of the World Championships for five- and six-year-old dressage horses in 2010 and 2011. Toto Gold’s pedigree also includes proven sport influences such as Tango, successful at Grand Prix level, and performance-oriented sires in later generations including Landjonker (Frühling), Aram, and Lucky Boy xx.
