Valerian announced himself as one of the most exciting young dressage stallions of his generation when he sensationally won the Vechta Stallion Test in January 2026. Making his very first public appearance, he dominated an exceptionally strong field with a confident and consistent performance across all test days, earning an outstanding overall score of 8.87. His individual scores highlighted his exceptional talent and train-ability: Trot: 9.0 Canter: 8.5 Walk: 8.1 Ride-ability: 9.5 Willingness to Perform: 9.0 Valerian is sired by Va'Pensiero, a Federal Champion, Hanoverian Champion and HLP winner who has gone on to achieve success up to St. Georges Special level. Through his sire, Valerian combines modern dressage type with proven performance ability and outstanding ride-ability. His maternal lineage is equally impressive. The dam line traces directly to the renowned Thoroughbred family 9h, combining refinement, athleticism and proven sport horse genetics. His dam sire, the legendary De Niro, was a dominant force in international breeding, leading the WBFSH rankings of the world's best dressage sires for multiple years. This distinguished family has produced numerous elite sport horses and licensed stallions. The third dam, Delicia, is the dam of four approved stallions, including the Grand Prix performers Cadeau Noir and Finest Ampere, alongside the licensed stallions Influencer and Forster TH. The family has also produced the Hanoverian premium stallion Fontainebleau l'Ami and the DSP licensing second reserve champion Voyageur. Further down the pedigree, descendants of the fourth dam, C'est la Vie, have produced successful Grand Prix dressage horses, advanced-level competitors and licensed show jumping stallions, demonstrating the exceptional versatility and quality that run throughout this family.
