Biography

Son of the prolific grand prix winner Argento (offspring of Arko III), Vermento also has the much sort after Skippy II in his dam line. At 9 years old, he is turning heads both for his jumping and his striking good looks. 2021 saw him make the step up to his first 5* show, first 1.60m class and his first Grand Prix win. With successes already under his belt, this year he will be one to watch. Rob Whitaker was delighted to secure the ride on Vermento from his father and, although the stallion is primarily a competitor, fresh/chilled semen will be on offer early in the 2022 breeding season with frozen throughout. Last year, he attracted attention from both specialist breeders of showjumpers and eventers and his 2022 foals are much anticipated.Whilst Vermento is a big powerful jumper, he is relaxed and easy-going at home. A favourite with both Rob’s family and grooms because of his excellent temperament.
