Biography
His sire Vagabond de la Pomme, descended from the show jumping world champion Vigo d'Arsouilles/Philippe Le Jeune/BEL, was himself one of the best show jumping stallions in the world under Pénélope Leprevos/FRA. In 2015 and 2016 he finished second and eighth in the World Cup finals in Los Angeles/USA and Gothenburg/SWE. He was also part of France's seventh-placed European Championship team in 2017. Vagabond de la Pomme has produced more than 30 licensed sons for breeding, such as the Nations Cup final runner-up Jenson van't Meulenhof/Niels Bruynseels/BEL and Jackson de Regor/Abdel Said/EGY, who is successful in Global Champions Tour competitions. The ranks of the sport offspring are led by the Olympic jumper Major Tom/Rodrigo Pessoa/BRA. The dam's sire Numero Uno, himself descended from the World Cup winner Libero H/Jos Lansink/BEL and from the Holstein mare line 429, won his stallion performance test and was successful in international show jumping under Marco Kutscher. He produced numerous offspring for top-level sport, including the Olympic team silver winner and seventh-place finisher in the World Cup final Sterrehof's Tamino/Marc Houtzager/NED, the Calgary Nations Cup winner and eleventh-place finisher in the World Cup final Uno de la Roque/Francios Jr. Mathy/BEL, the Nations Cup series winner Tyson/Leon Thijssen/NED, the winner of the Nations Cup final, Cristello/Denis Lynch/IRL and the winner of the Grand Prix in Los Angeles/USA, Valkenswaard/NED and Hong Kong/HKG, Van Gogh/Marco Kutscher. The last two are among the more than 70 licensed sons of Numero Uno. Due to his outstanding hereditary performance, Numero Uno was awarded preferent in the KWPN licensing in 2011, which is the highest award in the Netherlands. The grandmother Ilonka successfully competed in S-level show jumping under her sporting name Lila, and in 2005 she took part in the German Show Jumping Championships at the age of six. She is the mother of the two licensed and successful sport stallions Check In (by Cordalme Z; 1.60 m show jumping)/Samantha McIntosh/NZL and Checkter (by Cellestial; 1.55 m show jumping)/among others Leonie Böckmann. The former took part in the World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA in 2018. She also produced the S* show jumping horse Check up (by Cordalme Z) and the M** show jumping horse Lavender Brown (by Lintoc). The third mother Ila is half-sister of the licensed stallion Carvazzo (by Cordalme Z) and the S-show jumper Lordi (by Lord Pezi). The fourth dam Gilana or Böckmann's Lady Liberty, as she was known in sport, won international show jumping competitions with Gilbert Böckmann. Her half-brother Corghano (by Cordalme Z; 1.55 m show jumping) was licensed and was successful in international show jumping competitions under Max Kühner/AUT. Following his licensing in Vechta in 2000, the highly talented Vintage's sporting career took off under the saddle of Niels Bruynseels/BEL. After valuable placings in the international junior tours, the ideal jumper also successfully took part in the World Championships for six-year-old show jumping horses.
