Biography
Premium stallion of the 23rd DSP Licensing Days 2026 in Munich, Zain AS presents a truly majestic appearance. His type and overall presence are exceptional, and he impresses with three top-class basic gaits, showing natural balance, rideability, and an outstanding willingness to work paired with an excellent character. Sire line: the Denmark-bred sire Zackerey was main premium champion in Oldenburg in 2018 and has been developed extensively for dressage. To date, 19 sons by Zackerey have been licensed. Dam line: the dam First Lady produced the licensed son Briatore (by Benetton Dream) and successful sport horses up to advanced (S) level dressage. She is by Fürst Heinrich, winner of the 30-day test in 2001, main premium champion in Oldenburg in 2002, and world champion of five-year-old dressage horses in 2003. Fürst Heinrich sired two Oldenburg champion stallions through Van the Man and Fürstenball, and produced an influential main sire in Fürst Romancier. In the third generation, Arogno was Trakehner reserve champion stallion in 1978 and won the champion prize at the Bundeschampionat as a three-year-old. Through Karon, Caprimond, and Hohenstein I, he established a powerful sire line and also produced licensed sons including Polarpunkt and Traumdeuter. The great-granddam Bon Lady is the full sister of the proven sire Baryshnikov, who was himself successful at advanced level. Further back, Bolero, Absatz, and Lugano II add additional high-performing Hanoverian blood to the pedigree. Zain AS represents the Hanoverian mare line 622 (Javenda/Nordspitze), which has produced 58 licensed stallions. Notable representatives include the double Bundeschampion Monte Bellini (with Philipp Weishaupt), the advanced level dressage horse Margue H (with Hannes Baumgart), international show jumpers such as Wapiti 6 (with Fritz Ligges), Ferro (with Hendrik Schulze Siehoff), Fernando (with Ulrich Meyer zu Bexten), and Le Mans 8 (with Markus Beerbaum), as well as international dressage horses including Lesotho 5 (with Ellen Schulten-Baumer), Mazepa (with Dr. Josef Neckermann), Ma Griffe (with Walter Günther), Macao (with Herbert Hahn), Vinay NRW (with Ellen Richter), and the Olympic mare Wansuela Suerte (with Hubertus Schmidt). The line also produced top eventers Escada JS (with Ingrid Klimke) and Jelly Lorum (with Marina Köhncke).
